Manchester United are approaching the summer transfer window with the club now guaranteed to be participating in next season’s Champions League after an impressive second half of the season.

Michael Carrick is the architect of this with the 44-year-old guiding the club further up the Premier League table.

His efforts in doing this have led to him being positively viewed by many Manchester United supporters and it is almost certain that he will be handed the permanent managerial job at Old Trafford.

This summer will therefore offer Carrick his first opportunity to work with the recruitment team to sign players that could improve the squad ahead of the new season.

CentreDevils can now exclusively reveal details about conversations between Manchester United and representatives from Bournemouth relating to player transfers.

We understand that the two parties have held preliminary talks about the possibility of The Red Devils signing players from the South West club.

Sources that shared the details with CentreDevils are not currently aware of the exact players that were discussed, we do understand that these talks happened within the last week.

Manchester United have previously been linked with a number of names from Bournemouth. One of these players is Junior Kroupi who is currently of interest to both United and Liverpool.

The Cherries have previously taken a stance that Kroupi would not be sold, though, no matter the price offered.

Tyler Adams has also been linked with a move to Manchester United with the Red Devils discussing the midfielder back in January.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with a move, creating the possibility of a three-way battle to sign the American.

Marcos Senesi is another name linked with a move to Old Trafford with representatives from Manchester United in close contact with the defender’s representatives last month with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool also interested.

However, Senesi is leaving The Cherries on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer, so United would not need to speak to Bournemouth to discuss a deal for the Spanish defender.

Bournemouth are still in the battle for UEFA Champions League football, too, with the Cherries just four points behind Liverpool with a game in hand.

If Andoni Iraola’s side were to qualify for the Champions League, potential deals could be made more difficult for Manchester United.

It’s possible that the discussions were based around Bournemouth’s expectations for all the players, while it’s also possible that United are more interested in one specific player over another.

However, the fact that the clubs have engaged with each other to discuss potential transfers indicates that there is concrete interest from Manchester United in Bournemouth players.

Whether there is any follow up to these initial talks remains to be seen.

Manchester United have been linked with a number of players for the 2026/27 summer transfer window as the club gear up to fight in several domestic competitions as well as Europe next year.

But don’t be surprised if more news emerges in the coming weeks around the club looking to advance talks to sign a Bournemouth player in this upcoming window too.
