Lewis Hall has quickly established himself as Newcastle United’s first-choice left-back, cementing his role in the squad since arriving from Chelsea in 2023.

Initially Hall arrived on a year-long loan deal, which The Magpies made permanent for £28.5 million in 2024, now being a vital part of their Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

However, his impressive performances have drawn the attention of Manchester United who are looking for a new left-back.

Luke Shaw is 30, with a long-term replacement needed to take over his role, while Patrick Dorgu, who was initially signed to succeed Shaw, naturally fits better heigher up the pitch on the wing.

As such, the search for a new left-back has begun, and CentreDevils can now reveal that The Red Devils made contact with Lewis Hall.

Manchester United make enquiries over Lewis Hall transfer

A source close to the situation has explained that United are keen to sign him, with enquiries having been made with his agents about a potential move.

While we are aware the contact as been made, it’s unknown at this point how the 21-year-old feels about a move.

Although Newcastle United are keen to retain their star defender, the lure of Old Trafford has drawn in proven Premier League players like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, and that was without Champions League football.

Now having qualified once more for European football, The Red Devils have more strength in any negotiations, with the club undergoing a major rebuild.

It’s already been reported that £150 million is put aside to sign three new midfielders, with replacements for Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte needed this summer.

Alongside this, it’s been reported that a new left-winger is also being looked at, potentially to set up ahead of Hall, should he join United, rotating with Matheus Cunha.
