Manchester United’s players have been granted two days away from Carrington following the latest round of fixtures.

However, not everyone has taken the opportunity to step away from the training ground.

CentreDevils can exclusively reveal that Mason Mount has been at Carrington carrying out gym work as part of his rehabilitation programme while he continues pushing towards a return to action.

In recent press conferences, Interim manager Michael Carrick has been providing positive updates regarding Mount returning from injury.

The midfielder has been working alongside Manchester United’s fitness coaches during the break, even as the rest of the squad spend time away before returning to training tomorrow.

Mount’s continued presence at the training base highlights his determination to accelerate his recovery and get back involved with the first-team setup as soon as possible.

Manchester United’s medical and conditioning staff are carefully managing the midfielder’s workload, with gym-based rehabilitation forming a key part of the process before he resumes full training.

Mount’s return would provide a welcome boost for Michael Carrick, who has overseen a resurgence in results since taking charge earlier this season following the departure of former manager Ruben Amorim.

Carrick has lost just once since stepping into the role, helping stabilise performances as United continue pushing for a UEFA Champions League space between now and the end of the campaign.

While first-team improvements remain the immediate priority, the club are also continuing to focus on long-term squad building.

CentreDevils recently revealed that Manchester United and Liverpool are both scouting Blackburn Rovers striker Fahuz Amusat, as INEOS continue their search for emerging young talent across Europe.

The club’s recruitment strategy has also seen several successful additions in recent windows.

Players such as Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens have been making strong impressions since arriving at Old Trafford.

For now, though, attention remains on getting key players like Matthijs de Ligt and Mason Mount fit and available again.

Mount’s ongoing rehabilitation work at Carrington suggests the midfielder is edging closer to returning to the pitch as the Red Devils enter a crucial stretch of the season.
