Luca Marianucci is set to join Napoli on a permanent transfer, but he’ll only undergo his medical on Tuesday next week.
Napoli are on the verge of welcoming their first summer signing as Empoli centre-back Marianucci reached an agreement to join the Partenopei in March.
His medical tests with the defending Serie A champions were scheduled to take place this week, but sources have informed Football Italia that the examinations have now been postponed to Tuesday, June 10.
Marianucci will undergo medical tests in Rome next week.
The promising Italian defender will be Napoli’s first summer reinforcement, with the Partenopei expected to pay €9m to secure his signature.
Marianucci made his Serie A debut under Roberto D’Aversa this season and collected 24 appearances across all competitions with Empoli, providing two assists.
Napoli remain keen on bringing more defensive reinforcements this summer, with Bologna’s Sam Beukema already identified as their primary target.
At the same time, Beukema’s Bologna teammate Dan Ndoye is the Partenopei’s principal target in attack.
