Napoli have taken further concrete steps towards the signing of former player Eljif Elmas from RB Leipzig, Football Italia understands.
The Partenopei are still looking to add another attacker to their attacking ranks and are currently pushing for a return of Elmas, who was sold to RB Leipzig for a fee in the region of €25m in the winter of 2023.
Football Italia understands that the Macedonian winger has priorities a return to Napoli this summer, in what would be a highly welcomed return for Antonio Conte’s side.
Further steps to reach an agreement will be taken in the next few days.
So far, the RB Leipzig ownership has not yet opened up to the idea of sending Elmas out on loan for the season, but Napoli remain confident that they will be able to get a deal done.
The 25-year-old is currently training separately in Germany, and is waiting for updates from the Napoli camp, which is why he has taken his time with other interested sides, among which is Torino, where he spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan.
