Former Roma and Atalanta goalkeeper Rui Patricio has been offered to Napoli.
Portugal international Rui Patricio has been offered to defending Serie A champions Napoli, sources with direct knowledge of the matter exclusively tell me.
The 37-year-old is currently without a club after the end of his contract with Al-Ain.
Napoli are on the market for a second-choice goalkeeper and are considering whether to move forward in negotiations with the player’s entourage.
Napoli have also been monitoring Torino’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, but the Serbia international has a €20m release clause and has recently held talks with Premier League side Leeds United.
Napoli want to sign a new goalkeeper who would not put Alex Meret’s starting status in doubt in 2025-26. Therefore, Rui Patricio might be the right profile for the Partenopei, who will make a final decision in the coming days.
The experienced goalkeeper participated in the Club World Cup in June.
He has kept 35 clean sheets in 99 Serie A games with Roma and Atalanta.
