Daniele De Rossi is willing to resume his coaching career and has been considered by Sampdoria, but only if they manage to stay in Serie B.
Sampdoria have identified De Rossi as a possible candidate to take over the team in 2025-26.
The 2006 Italy World Cup winner has been without a club since Roma suddenly sacked him in September 2024.
The former midfielder has already held talks with Parma and another Serie A club, but is also interested in the Sampdoria job.
De Rossi is still under contract with Roma, but sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell me that terminating the agreement with the Giallorossi would not be a problem, as De Rossi is eager to resume his coaching career as soon as possible.
First of all, however, Samp must defend their Serie B status on Sunday when they visit Salernitana in the second leg of the relegation play-out.
The Blucerchiati won the first leg at home 2-0 last week.
The second leg tie was scheduled to be played on Friday, but was postponed to Sunday, June 22, after several Salernitana players and staff members were hospitalised due to a massive food poisoning outbreak.
