Josh Acheampong has been linked with an exit from Chelsea, and Bayern Munich now seem a potential destination.
The last few weeks have seen an increase in the number of rumours about the potential departure of Josh Acheampong from Chelsea.
The defender will have been disappointed by a lack of first team action this season, even when key senior defenders have been out. It’s no surprise that talk of interest from Premier League teams like Crystal Palace has come back to the fore.
We didn’t loan the young defender out, but then we didn’t actually play him often either. He’s at a critical stage of his development, and this feels a wasted season.
Now it seems there may be even bigger fish swimming by. Top transfer insider Christian Falk’s exclusive today name-drops Acheampong as a potential target for Bayern Munich.
“There are also rumours about the right-back of Chelsea, Josh Acheampong – these are transfers within Bayern Munich’s range,” Falk wrote.
Acheampong recently signed a long contract, and Chelsea continue to say they want to keep him. However, they don’t really act like it. If they want him to improve, they need him to play and learn. It’s not like those ahead of him in the pecking order are doing much to keep their places.
Cole Palmer is getting closer to full fitness, at least according to Thomas Tuchel who has seen the data and made an interesting observation at a recent game.
