Exclusive: Shea Lacey picks up injury

When considering future prospects, many Manchester United supporters will mention Shea Lacey.

A talented winger with excellent close control and finishing skills who executes quickly.

At the age of fifteen, Lacey made his debut for Manchester United’s under-18 team after being called up due to his outstanding youth performances.

Unfortunately, he has been hindered by injuries over the last two years.

A torn thigh muscle injury during the 23–24 season caused him to miss almost five months of football, and the injuries started to mount one by one.

The English international has, however, been injury-free since the beginning of the season and has been doing well for both the club and the country.

This has led to him breaking through into the first-team squad and making his debut earlier this season.

It seemed inevitable that the 18-year-old would make the squad for the Red Devils’s game against Tottenham Hotspur today.

There was a surprise when his name wasn’t in the matchday squad, and instead young Tyler Fletcher was there (and he ended up making his debut).

We can now reveal an update on his absence.

CentreDevils understands that Shea Lacey has unfortunately picked up a minor calf injury this week which kept him out of the squad today.

The initial scans have shown it’s not too serious, and he could return in a few weeks if all goes to plan.

The club will not rush him back and will take their time with his recovery.

While this injury is a blow for him, it could give opportunities to other youngsters like Tyler Fletcher, whom we saw make his debut today.

Lacey is one of the brightest talents at United at the moment, and he will certainly play a big part in the Red Devil’s future.
