Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has attracted interest from numerous clubs during the summer transfer window. Major teams from the Premier League and across Europe are closely monitoring the Malian star’s situation.

TheBoyHotspur understands that his agent, Michael N’Cho has found interest at Wolves, Leeds United, and Everton, who are all seriously interested in Bissouma. Everton have identified him as a key target to strengthen their midfield following Abdoulaye Doucouré’s departure.

Leeds United are aiming to reinforce their squad to secure long-term stability in the Premier League and have added Bissouma to their transfer list.

Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have submitted a loan offer for Bissouma, but Tottenham prefer a permanent sale.

Bissouma’s contract expires in 2026, and Spurs plan to sell him this summer. The club is demanding a transfer fee between €35 million and €40 million for the player.

Our view

Bissouma has been, on occasion, excellent for us, although sadly, not frequently enough.

When arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion, there was a sense of bright optimism across the fan base, as it was evident that he could be a very useful player.

On the field, results have been mixed, and it must be said that this may be down to the fuzzy thinking of Ange Postecoglou, as much as anything, but the Malian has failed to boss the Spurs midfield, as he would have liked to.

Off the field, we have seen a steady stream of dancing to a beatbox, and there was the business of the nitrous oxide video, which he published.

Yves was suspended for the team’s Premier League opener against Leicester City on August 15, 2024, after posting a video on Snapchat showing himself inhaling nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas.

Nitrous oxide is classified as a Class C drug in the UK, and its recreational use has been illegal since 2023, carrying a potential two-year prison sentence.

On balance, Tottenham might do well to go again with a player who’s a little more focused on the day job.
