Cesc Fabregas believes he’s ‘evolving’ as a coach and reveals the ‘hardest’ moments for him Como side, in their first Serie A campaign in 21 years.
Fabregas’ Como sit 13th in the Serie A table, seven points above the relegation zone.
“Things are done well at Como. We are a young club but have grown a lot,” Fabregas told Sky Sport Italia.
“There are many people on the staff, not just in the technical area but also as data analysts and scouts. I make mistakes, obviously, but we are learning a lot, and I see great potential.
“We have learned a lot and we have grown a lot. We are all new to Serie A, a fantastic league with a high level of competition,” the Spaniard continued.
“If somebody had told us at the beginning of the season that we’d get this far, we would have signed immediately. We have to keep going and keep growing.
“I am stronger than I was before, and I see myself even stronger in a year. It’s the natural evolution of a coach. I know I won’t be the same in ten years. It’s a learning process,” Fabregas added.
“You have to do many things every day, make many decisions, and talk to many people. It’s not only about tactical management but also on a human level.”
Despite positive results during the current campaign, the Azzurri naturally faced a few tricky moments.
“The hardest were the home game against Lazio [5-1 loss] or our Serie A debut against Juventus, the first match of the season,” Fabregas admitted.
“That game made me understand the level of the league. The win against Fiorentina was positive, like the two games against Napoli, but again, there is always something to learn.”
