Cesc Fabregas wants to join Inter Milan despite some of his cagey recent remarks, but he must convince Como to let him leave.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

The last couple of days have been an absolute whirlwind at Inter Milan.

On Monday, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi officially stepped down after four years in charge. The 49-year-old then officially became the coach of Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Inter have made Como coach Cesc Fabregas their top target to replace Inzaghi.

Despite only being 38 years of age, the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder has already massively impressed with his work on the bench at Como.

Fabregas Wants Inter Despite Cagey Statements – But Must Convince Como To Sanction Move

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Cesc Fabregas has decided on a move to Inter Milan.

The 38-year-old has been convinced by the Nerazzurri sporting project.

Even though last weekend’s 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain revealed big cracks in the Nerazzurri team, Fabregas still rates the core of key Inter players highly.

Moreover, the Corriere report that Fabregas also believes that he can build a youth-focused project at Inter.

However, the newspaper note, there would be the problem of Fabregas’s current engagement at Como.

The Spaniard has already resisted the interest of teams like Bayer Leverkusen and Roma. And Como certainly don’t want to lose their talismanic coach.

Fabregas made cagey statements yesterday suggesting that he is happy at Como. However, the Corriere report, these were just the natural words of a coach whose future is still far from certain.

In reality, the newspaper anticipate, Fabregas is now working to convince Como to allow him to join Inter.
