According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are still interested in signing a left winger despite signing two recently.

Things have gone very quiet around transfers right now as they often do after a long and busy summer transfer window and with us bring around three months away from the next window opening in the winter.

But even still, there will always be plenty of things going on, rumours starting to brew up, and plans for the winter window starting to be made by clubs. I am sure Chelsea’s decision makers are forever having conversations about recruitment and what they might need for the next window.

But do they really need another new left winger? Some Chelsea fans who are yet to be convinced by Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho, will tell you they do. But on paper, they do not.

Even still, they remain interested in left winger Kenan Yildiz from Juventus.

What Romano has said

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel in Italian, says that Chelsea are “very” interested in signing Yildiz, but Juve are planning to negotiate fresh terms and keep him out of Premier League’s clutches.

“If Yildiz had wanted to move to the Premier League, I assure you he could have done so at the start of the transfer window,” Romano said.

“Chelsea have always been very interested, and the Premier League’s interest remains because Yildiz is a fantastic player, so it’s normal to see the attention of the big clubs.

“But Juventus, as I said, is working on a renewal and is optimistic; they want to reach a solution as soon as possible to ward off any other temptation for a champion like Kenan Yildiz.”
