Tottenham Hotspur had quite an exciting end to the summer transfer window as they were involved in several operations in the last stretch of the market, and even ended up getting two new players, i.e., Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani, before the end of the window on 1st September.
Thus, the Lilywhite club’s fans could have been dreaming of a highly exciting season ahead, in which they will be competing for both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League titles under their new coach Thomas Frank.
However, Daniel Levy’s shock decision to step down as the Executive Chairman of the club has significantly affected the mood at Spurs, as there is currently quite a lot of uncertainty about the future direction the club would take.
For now, it is not clearly known who would take reins of the North London club to lead it into the future, and what approach the new administration would have regarding the sporting, social, and economic future of the entity.
In such a context, the journalist Fabrizio Romano has addressed the situation at Tottenham, as he wrote in a transfer newsletter for GivemeSport. The Italian journalist did not reveal a lot about who would take over from Levy, but did claim that a change in administration was being pondered upon for quite some time now:
“This is a topic to explore in the next days and weeks. Nothing is guaranteed now, but we already heard rumours about that since April. Let’s see!”
For now, Spurs have already created the office of a new Non-executive Chairman, which is taken by Peter Charrington. However, this momentous change could not have come at a worse time for the North London club, as Thomas Frank’s team would be resuming its Premier League campaign after a stinging loss to Bournemouth last week, and would also be starting its UCL campaign in the days to come.
Hopefully, the new administration will take charge of Tottenham as soon as possible so that the Lilywhite side can compete for these big titles with its internal structure enjoying some stability.
