Rasmus Hojlund’s status update from Fabrizio Romano

“Hojlund could leave Manchester United in the final days of the window,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“I think it could be one of the stories. This is a possibility and there are several clubs looking at him, so keep an eye on this possibility.”

Rasmus Hojlund has only been a Man United player for one season, and while he didn’t set the world alight, scoring 17 goals in all competitions is not a bad return at all. >However, many fans do still rate him highly and it wouldn’t be a shock if he thrived elsewhere away from Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund leaning towards permanent exit from Manchester United

Hojlund’s time at Old Trafford looks to be over, with Ruben Amorim making it clear by leaving him out of the last two matchday squads.

He’s been linked with a move back to Italy, where his style fits the league well. Romano has recently reported that Hojlund and United are finished, and a return to Serie A seems likely.

While AC Milan have been linked for some time, Napoli have now emerged as serious contenders according to Romano.

Posting on X, he noted that Napoli had made fresh contact about signing Hojlund, who is open to the move.

The 21-year-old isn’t looking for another short-term solution. He wants a permanent deal rather than another loan stint.

Romano later added that Hojlund’s camp has told Napoli, Leipzig, and Milan that he only wants a loan if it comes with an obligation to buy. He’s ready to move on from United completely.

He wants full commitment from whichever club he joins next so he can settle in without looking over his shoulder.

Rasmus Hojlund leaning towards Napoli move over Milan

With just 11 days remaining in the transfer window, Rasmus Hojlund’s situation appears to be moving toward a resolution, with indications that a deal could be finalised soon.

In addition to Romano’s report, United in Focus has learned from Graeme Bailey that Hojlund is expected to accept a loan move this summer.

The striker had shown interest in joining Milan, but it is now understood that he views Napoli as the more appealing option.

Bailey notes that while United aren’t pushing him out directly, Hojlund feels there is an indirect pressure leading him to believe an exit is his best path forward.

A move to Napoli would also see him reunite with Scott McTominay, which could help ease the transition for Hojlund.
