Manchester United have crossed another name off their striker shortlist, with Victor Osimhen no longer under consideration.
The Red Devils began the transfer window learning Liam Delap preferred a move to Chelsea, and now it appears Osimhen is edging closer to a return to Galatasaray.

The 26-year-old had been considered an ideal fit for United, but talks between Napoli and a bidder collapsed. While there may still be a chance to move, Ineos seem focused on other options.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United’s hesitation wasn’t just about the transfer fee, but the £340,000 per week wage Osimhen reportedly wanted.
A deal at that wage would have shattered United’s current pay structure at a time where Sir Jim Ratcliffe is trying to bring costs under control.
The club’s new ownership group is determined to avoid the wage bill spiraling out of control again, even if it means missing out on high-profile targets.
Ineos are attempting to impose a stricter salary framework while trimming down some of the club’s larger contracts, though progress has been slow this summer.
While the club is being linked with other big names – including Brighton’s Evan Ferguson and Chelsea’s Ivan Toney – don’t expect them to sign on huge contracts. Ineos are showing no signs of backing away from their new policies.
