Enzo Fernandez has said he has not had any direct talks with Real Madrid about a summer transfer, which is being seen as a win by Chelsea fans.
Chelsea vice captain Enzo Fernandez dropped a bomb after the defeat to PSG last week by admitting on Argentine TV that he was considering leaving Chelsea after this season.
He’s since dropped more quotes, which transfer guru Fabrizio Romano picked up today:
“No, honestly, nothing. Zero talks”. “Now we’re focused on Chelsea and what’s left of the last few games this season and then we’ll see after the World Cup,” Romano quoted him as saying.
It’s funny that this is being seen as a big win for Chelsea fans, and is being replied to on Twitter with cries of “my captain!!”.
All he’s said is just what he said last week after the PSG game – he’s thinking of leaving Chelsea and will consider his future after the World Cup. Saying there’s been no talks with Real Madrid is hardly a win here.
Enzo has a long contract and will likely stay even if Madrid are interested. But the rot has started – he and the team’s other key players won’t stick around if things don’t improve.
Joao Pedro has been a good signing for Chelsea, but he scores goals in bunches and the team doesn’t have the attackers to support that.
