Tottenham are strongly linked with a move for Man City star Jack Grealish in the summer

It has been a long two weeks for Tottenham fans as the euphoria of the Europa League slowly wears down. The North London club is already in the headlines again for all the wrong reasons as Ange Postecoglou’s fate is still hanging in the balance at N17. No one really knows what the future holds for the Australian tactician, and the Lilywhites cannot get business done in the transfer market due to that.

Spurs are already playing catch-up in the transfer window as they are slowly missing out on their intended targets. The North London club need to bring in new players if they want to close the gap on their rivals next season. But as the days go by, it looks highly unlikely that the club would make any moves early in the summer.

Daniel Levy is also forced to adopt the ‘sell-to-buy’ policy after enduring a tough domestic campaign. The Lilywhites need to free up space in the squad to bring in new signings for next season. The fans are expecting a massive squad overhaul, and Levy must make sure to do exactly that by cashing in on underperforming players.

Tottenham are linked with a summer move for Man City star Jack Grealish

There is no doubt that Tottenham need to bring in attacking reinforcements in the summer. Most of the players underperformed massively for most parts of the campaign under Ange Postecoglou. Club captain Heung-Min Son is one of the players that failed to make an impact on the left flank, and Daniel Levy is looking to address that problem in the summer.

Spurs are interested in signing Jack Grealish from Man City to address the problem on the left wing for next season. While many fans and pundits are on the fence with this signing, iconic commentator Ian Darke has no doubts that the 29-year-old will flourish in North London. Speaking to Tottenham News, Darke said,

“Grealish at Tottenham, he is the kind of player that I think Tottenham fans would like, isn’t he. You could see it being his kind of place, but until they sort it out whether Postecoglou is staying or going, you know, it will depend on that, what they are going to do style-wise. Is Tottenham a Jack Grealish kind of club?”

The iconic commentator added,

“It probably is, isn’t it? If you were drawing up a list of possible destinations for Grealish, you would probably have Tottenham quite high up on the list. It would be fascinating to have a chat with his agent and see what the state of play is, but I think he will move from Manchester City this summer.”

Ian Darke was quick to suggest that Tottenham fans would instantly like Jack Grealish if he made the switch to N17. The commentator also insisted that Spurs are a perfect club for the England international to rejuvenate his career at the top level again. Darke added that the Lilywhites first need to sort out the managerial situation at the club before proceeding with the move for the Manchester City star.

The 29-year-old has become an ‘outcast’ at the Etihad Stadium and he has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola. It looks increasingly likely that Grealish’s time is up in Manchester and a summer move is likely to happen. Signing the ex-Villa star would instantly make Spurs a strong attacking team. And he would also displace Heung-Min Son from the starting eleven for next season.

Spurs fans will hope that the club starts making some moves in the transfer window before it gets too late. The Lilywhites cannot afford to get complacent heading into next season as they have the perfect chance to close the gap on other top clubs. Ange’s men will also be playing Champions League football next year, so a strong team will be needed to compete on all fronts.
