We are almost halfway through the Premier League season – how is your Fantasy Premier League team looking at this stage?
This is a crucial point in the season for all players. As AFCON representatives leave their clubs to play for their countries, each player in FPL will be awarded five free transfers to sort out any kinks that your squad might have.
With that out of the way, who were the best and worst performers in FPL this week? Let’s take a quick look.
While the 2025/26 season has often been shaky for Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, he was imperious against Bournemouth. In truth, the Spaniard didn’t have much work to do, but his efforts gave the powers that be enough reason to hand him 10 points for the week.
In the same game, Djorde Petrovic also kept a clean sheet for Bournemouth, netting himself a respecvtable seven points for the week.
As for our biggest loser, we have to go with Liverpool’s Alisson. He is one of the most expensive goalkeepers in the game at £5.4, but only delivered returns of a single point this week after conceding three goals against Leeds United.
Gameweek 15 was another bountiful period for a slew of defenders, but none of them scored as highly as Ruben Dias. The Manchester City man bagged himself 14 points after he scored and kept a clean sheet during the Sky Blues’ dominant 3-0 win over Sunderland.
He wasn’t the only City man to score highly in gameweek 15 – Josko Gvardiol also managed to conjure up 12 points on FPL.
However, a total of six defenders ended up with a negative points total this week. None of them scored as lowly as Burnley’s Lucas Pires, who ended up with -3 after he was shown a red card.
Bruno Fernandes provided a boon for his FPL owners late in the week, as he scored 18 points for his performance against Wolves for Manchester United on Monday evening. Two goals, one assist and the maximum bonus points gave him a particularly healthy points total.
Elsewhere, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Xavi Simons also performed well, scoring 16 and 14 points (respectively).
On the other side of the coin, Mohamed Salah was left out for the third Liverpool game in a row – given his impending participation in AFCON and his scathing comments after the game, it’s unclear when he will return to action.
Once again, gameweek 15 wasn’t a particularly successful period for strikers in FPL. Only Hugo Ekitike managed to break into double figures, as his brace against Leeds gave him 13 points for the week.
Eddie Nketiah and Jarrod Bowen were also on hand to win a few points, as they each scored nine in total for the week.
However, FPL’s two highest-scoring forwards – Erling Halaand and Igor Thiago – both drew blanks this week and ended up with points totals of just two. Haaland is the most expensive player in FPL – one would expect more from him.
