Tottenham have received a big boost in their pursuit of FC Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to resolve boss Ange Postecoglou’s future before pursuing any new signings, as the Australian is not guaranteed to be in charge next season, despite leading the club to their first trophy in 17 years.

As per reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, the North Londoners are expected to make a decision over the 59-year-old tactician’s future ‘very soon’, as they are still evaluating their options internally. But that doesn’t mean the club bosses are not scouring the market for new acquisitions. Work is going behind the scenes in preparation for next season’s Champions League football.

A top-quality, experienced central defender will be the priority if Cristian Romero leaves this summer. In addition, Spurs will also need to reinforce the attacking unit owing to their struggles in unlocking well-drilled defences and supporting club-record signing Dominic Solanke up top.

Tottenham have a target in mind in the form of FC Copenhagen starlet Roony Bardghji. The North London club are long-time admirers of the winger and want to bring him to N17 ahead of next season. As per recent reports, the player is also open to sealing a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Roony Bardghji has been out of action with a serious knee injury for some time. Since suffering an ACL damage during a training session, he has missed over 50 games for FC Copenhagen. The Kuwait City-born talent recently returned to action, and this has seen Spurs revive their interest in him. There has now been a massive development regarding the Swede attacker’s future that ensures that he will not remain part of FC Copenhagen for a long time, and Tottenham would have taken note of this situation.

According to Danish news outlet Bold, FC Copenhagen’s attempts to tie Bardghji down to a new contract have collapsed, with the teenage prodigy making it clear that he will not commit his future to the club. It is believed that the Sweden youth international might have already played his last game for the Danish giants.

Bardghji’s current deal at the Parken Stadium expires on December 31, 2025 (Transfermarkt), which means that Tottenham and the player’s other suitors will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with him from July 1. There are plenty of clubs vying for the youngster’s signature , but Bardghji’s willingness to join Ange Postecoglou’s forces at White Hart Lane gives Tottenham a big advantage over their rivals to land him.

That said, it would make sense for Daniel Levy and Co. to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Copenhagen starlet at the start of next month. Come January 2026, Bardghji would officially arrive at the club as a new signing ready to make an impact and boost Spurs’ objectives for the second half of the season.
