The feeling within the industry is Chelsea’s £80m asking price for Nicolas Jackson can be negotiated according to Fabrizio Romano.

Jackson’s career at Chelsea appears to be over after he was left out of the squad for their pre-season friendly against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night.

In his absence Liam Delap started the game, whilst Joao Pedro came on in the second half and scored Chelsea’s second goal with virtually the last kick of the game.

Clubs feel Chelsea will lower their asking price for Jackson

Jackson has seen his future questioned following the arrival of both Delap and Pedro, and it looks like he wants to seek a new challenge elsewhere next season.

Romano has previously stated it’s over between Jackson and Chelsea, and there’s a number of clubs interested in the 24-year-old.

Jackson is said to be top of Newcastle’s list of targets, whilst Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus both like the striker.

Chelsea are believed to have set an asking price of £80m for Jackson, and Romano has now provided an update on the situation.

“On Chelsea’s reported £80 million fee for Nicolas Jackson, the feeling in the industry is this can be negotiated,” he told his YouTube channel.

Jackson has scored 24 league goals across his two seasons at the club, and if he does move on it’ll be interesting to see if the Blues move for another striker.

Chelsea working on Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho

Whilst Jackson appears to heading to the Stamford Bridge exit door, Chelsea are working on deals to bring both Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho in.

The Blues are locked in negotiations with Leipzig, but are yet to make an official offer for Simons, who is said to want the move.

Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Garnacho, and will now begin negotiations with Manchester United, who are said to want £50m for the 21-year-old.
