Celtic face Feyenoord this evening in the UEFA Europa League. The Scottish Champions face Robin Van Persie’s side at the Stadion Feijenoord ‘De Kuip’ as the underperforming pair look to push themselves into the play-off places.

Celtic sit in 27th place with just four points while the hosts sit two places below them with one point fewer. Feyenoord have been beaten by Braga, Aston Villa and Stuttgart but will be up for this evening’s game, especially given the precarious situation at Celtic Park.

UEFA have confirmed the match officials for the game with Austrian referee Sebastian Gishamer handed the whistle. The ref will be assisted by his compatriots Roland Riedel and Santino Schreiner with Alexander Harkam operating as Fourth Official.

Meanwhile, on VAR duties, Italian Marco Di Bello will operate behind the scenes with Daniele Chiffi assisting.

Gishamer has taken charge of a Celtic game before, namely a 6-0 win against KR Reykjavik in 2020.

Celtic were robbed in their second UEL game against Braga as Kelechi Iheanacho’s equaliser was ruled out for a handball. This decision came at a delicate time in the game and the result could have been different had the goal been correctly awarded. Hopefully, there is no repeat of that contentious decision and we are talking about the quality of the players and not officials.
