Fiorentina Agree Deal to Sign David de Gea

David de Gea is all set to complete his move to Fiorentina. The Spaniard has finally decided to take up this new adventure. David de Gea remained a free agent for the whole 20232024 season as he didn’t have any serious offers in the last summer after his Manchester United exit. As reported by the renowned soccer journalist Fabrizio Romano, David de Gea’s deal is almost there and is to be completed very soon. The agreements between the concerned player and the club are in place, with just a few formalities to be completed very soon.

De Gea missed professional football for a whole year. It is a strong comeback displayed by the Spanish keeper in both physical and mental terms. The interesting thing to see will be that if the standards set up by him still live up to the mark or not, it all depends on him. Reports suggest that David de Gea will be in Italy next week for the medicals. A 12-month contract is proposed by Fiorentina with a possible option to extend the stay for another year.

A Tough Decision has Been Made

Manchester United parted ways with David de Gea last summer as they signed the Cameroonian soccer goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan. Andre Onana played an important part in the Inter Milan squad and also had a key performance in the UEFA Champions League.

Erik Ten Hag wanted the young blood and spark in the form of Onana to replace the ‘considered to be old’ experience of David de Gea. Ten Hag wanted to reunite with Onana just like the old Ajax days. De Gea was not considered an option for the Red Devils as these decisions are in the hands of the managing staff authority.

Da Gea had big-money offers from Saudi Pro League clubs, and also from the Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs. Choosing to still be in Europe despite making a move to these leagues is a firm decision. These moves are so money-tempting that every player falls for it. De Gea will just be earning about three million euros per season here in Fiorentina. He also had an offer from another Serie A side Genoa, but he has finally ended up in the Fiorentina squad and expectedly will soon join the team camp.
