As expected, Fiorentina have officially sent striker Lucas Beltran to Valencia on a one-year loan at a cost of €1m.

The centre-forward was not part of coach Stefano Pioli’s plans and had been left out of the squad so far this season in Serie A and the Conference League.

He was close to several different clubs during the summer, including Botafogo and CSKA Moscow, but was unconvinced by these options.

Beltran will play for Valencia this season

Now he has completed a loan move to Valencia for the 2025-26 campaign, at a cost of circa €1m.

There is no option to make it permanent, so Beltran will return to Fiorentina at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old Argentina international wanted more regular playing time, as he hopes to be part of the squad going to the 2026 World Cup.

Fiorentina purchased the striker from River Plate in 2023 for a fee of €12.6m plus numerous performance-related bonuses, totalling up to another €13m.

He scored 16 goals and provided nine assists in 98 competitive appearances in the Viola jersey.
