Fiorentina are preparing to offer Italian striker Moise Kean a new contract, with just less than 2 days until the player’s active release clause expires, reports from Italy claim.

According to SkySport this afternoon, Fiorentina will aim to begin negotiations on Wednesday with an improved salary for the 25-year-old – as they look to increase his wage from €2.2 million to €4 million per season.

Despite interest, Fiorentina look likely to retain Kean

There has been no shortage of clubs interested in the forward, who finished as the second top scorer in the 2024-25 Serie A with 19 goals in 32 games. Premier League giants Manchester United were rumoured to have been considering activating the Italian’s release clause but now the two-week window for said clause is nearly up.

It was not just the Red Devils who were interested in the forward, however, with concrete offers received from Saudi Pro League clubs Al Qadsiah and Al Hilal – the former eventually settling on a huge deal for Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui.

However, the reports from Sky suggest that Kean wishes to continue competing at a high level in Europe and was not tempted by the bumper paycheque to move to Saudi Arabia.
