Forest defender Cook shocked by axe

Nottingham Forest defender Steve Cook admits being dropped has come as a shock.

Cook, 32, was left out of the Premier League squad in January.

"It wasn't expected at the time [his omission] but was one of those where you have to dust yourself down and get ready for what comes next," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"I'm not doing too much sulking, I've been doing some coaching in the academy and just keeping myself busy."

Cook added: "I've got another year left at Forest so there will be a decision to be made and I've got to be ready for that."
