Four Lazio Players Called up for October International Break

Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri will be able to work with the bulk of his squad during the October international break, as only four players were called up by their national teams.

As usual, Elseid Hysaj will join Albania’s camp, as they prepare to take on Serbia in their next World Cup qualifier. Afterwards, they will play Jordan in a friendly fixture. For their part, Greece have two upcoming clashes against Scotland and Denmark, and Christos Mandas will be part of their squad, albeit he might not be the first choice between the sticks.

Speaking of the Danes, Gustav Isaksen has been selected for national duty after overcoming his illness. This could be a good opportunity for the winger to put some minutes in his legs, as he’s still working on regaining his optimal physical condition. Before hosting Greece, the Scandinavians will take on Belarus away from home.

Finally, Nuno Tavares became a late addition to Portugal in a Déjà vu scenario from the previous international break. The last time out, the left-back replaced Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot, whereas this time, he’s coming in for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Joao Neves, who picked up a knock.

The UEFA Nations Cup winners will host the Republic of Ireland and Hungary in their next two contests.

On the other hand, Taty Castellanos, Matteo Guendouzi and Mario Gila have been snubbed by their respective national team managers for the second time in a row, while Nicolo Rovella, Mattia Zaccagni, Adam Marusic, Boulaye Dia, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru didn’t receive their usual call-ups due to injuries.
