Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram feels that “winning without conceding was the goal” in the Nerazzurri’s friendly victory against Olympiacos.

The Frenchman spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, after yesterday’s 2-0 win.

Inter Milan beat Olympiacos in a friendly match yesterday evening.

This was the Nerazzurri’s final friendly match before the start of the Serie A season. They take on Torino in their league opener on Monday, August 25th.

Inter beat Greek giants Olympiacos 2-0 in their final friendly match of the season.

Wingback Federico Dimarco scored the Nerazzurri’s opener in the friendly win. Subsequently, striker Marcus Thuram wrapped up the win with a goal in the second half.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the pitch Inter managed to keep a clean sheet.

This will be a good sign for coach Cristian Chivu, appointed at the start of the summer.

After the match, Inter striker Marcus Thuram, who scored, admitted that “we’re still tried from these tough weeks of preseason.”

“But it’s good to play in this heat,” he said. “Because it prepares us for our league opener.”

Thuram then stated that “we won without conceding, which was our goal.”

“We’re happy,” he then said.

Thuram admitted that “I’m not at 100% yet.”

“But I’m working to get back to my best form,” the Frenchman insisted.

“The fans here in Bari were extraordinary. It felt like we were at the San Siro. It was beautiful.”
