Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old is currently on loan at Barcelona, and they have an option to sign him permanently for a fee of around £26 million. However, Barcelona have not yet decided whether to trigger the clause. In case they decide not to sign the player permanently, Tottenham could look to move for him.
They need a dynamic attacker like Rashford who can operate on the flanks as well as centrally. The Manchester United attacker could prove to be an excellent acquisition.
According to Spanish publication SPORT, Tottenham have a ‘genuine interest’ in signing the Manchester United player. It will be interesting to see if they can convince him to join the club.
The report claims they will need to secure safety in the Premier League to attract players of his quality.
Rashford can operate on the flanks as well as centrally. He has 26 goal contributions for the Spanish club this season, and there is no doubt that he would be an excellent addition for Tottenham as well. He has shown his quality in the Premier League with Manchester United, and he could hit the ground running at the North London club.
The asking price is quite affordable for Tottenham, and the player is at the peak of his career. He could easily justify the outlay. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can secure safety and convince the English forward to join the club.
The opportunity to play for Barcelona will be more attractive for the England international, but he would have no choice if the Spanish outfit decides not to pursue the move. He has no future at Manchester United, and he will look to leave them permanently in the summer.
