Tottenham Hotspur have secured a pre-season victory over Arsenal in the first NLD played abroad. With Champions League football returning to North London this season, both teams are intensifying preparations in pursuit of domestic and European success.

The fixture against Spurs provided Arsenal with a valuable test as they continue their build-up towards what they hope will be a title-winning campaign. After finishing as runners-up in each of the last three seasons, the Gunners and their supporters are determined to take the next step and claim the Premier League crown.

Arsenal Focused Despite Defeat

The arrival of Viktor Gyökeres has boosted optimism at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal view themselves as serious contenders and believe the addition of the Swedish striker could be the catalyst they need to reach the top. However, the defeat to their fierce rivals has handed Spurs early bragging rights ahead of the new season.

Tottenham’s win was met with enthusiasm from their players and supporters alike. Richarlison, who was NOT named Man of the Match, took to social media to celebrate the result and took the opportunity to aim a playful dig at Arsenal defender Gabriel by posting a picture of the award.

Social Media Exchange Draws Attention

Gabriel, however, was quick to remind his counterpart of his own strong record in North London Derbies. The Arsenal centre-back responded by sharing an image highlighting his collection of at least three Man of the Match awards earned in previous encounters against Spurs, as reported by Football Insider.

While the result may not have competitive implications, the rivalry remains as intense as ever, both on and off the pitch. These social media exchanges between players add an extra layer of drama to one of English football’s most iconic rivalries. Ultimately, Arsenal will be aiming to respond where it truly matters, when points are on the line in the Premier League.
