Gian Piero Gasperini has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Claudio Ranieri at Roma, and according to Sportitalia, the Italian tactician is eager to bring Mario Pasalic with him.
Gasperini wants to reunite with Pasalic at Roma, according to the latest report from Alfredo Pedullà.
The Croatian midfielder’s contract expires in June, and Atalanta have already offered him a new deal.
However, according to the Italian transfer expert, Gasperini will ask Pasalic to follow him to the capital. Atalanta are pushing for a contract extension, and the midfielder will have the final say.
Multiple sources claim Gasperini has decided to leave Atalanta after nine years in Bergamo, but is still negotiating with Roma.
Pasalic has been playing for Atalanta since 2018 and has scored 59 goals and provided 40 assists in 298 appearances under this coach in Bergamo.
The former Chelsea and Milan midfielder won the Europa League in 2024 during his successful spell with La Dea, where his future has yet to be determined.
