Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is, according to reports from Italy, a big fan of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva, as the Giallorossi attempt to work out a deal for the Portuguese attacker.
Reports from the Corriere dello Sport today suggest that Silva remains Roma’s number-one target to further reinforce their attack this summer, after completing the loan signing of Brighton’s Irish international Evan Ferguson earlier in the window.
Whilst the Giallorossi greatly appreciate Fabio Silva, the feasibility of the deal is another matter. The 23-year-old has a contract currently expiring in 2026, with an optional one-year extension. Roma are considering a proposal including a loan with obligation-to-buy but to unlock this, Silva must first and foremost sign a new deal with the Premier League side.
Once Silva’s stay in the Midlands is ceremoniously extended, the door may open for a move to Roma, which reports indicate could be worth a total package of around €20 million.
