Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has been teasing Blues fans of a key Chelsea transfer deal that will be happening very soon.

This news comes after Chelsea beat Real Betis to win the Conference League on Wednesday night after being a goal down at half time and turning it around.

THREE CHELSEA TRANSFER EXCLUSIVES!! – CFC open to selling THREE GKs, Eyes on Branthwaite & Guehi, Results of Chelsea’s weekend talks with Nico Williams, and MORE!!!

The Blues ended up winning the game 4-1 in the end after a bit of a Cole Palmer masterclass in the second half, providing two beautiful assists for his team mates to grab crucial goals.

Although head coach Enzo Maresca is once again not willing to get carried away after this by insisting that Chelsea’s target for next season is not going to be winning the Champions League!

Big decisions to make

Chelsea’s decision makers are going to be very busy this week and for the rest of the summer after the transfer window opened on Sunday albeit just for a short time, for now at least.

This window closes on June the 10th and then opens again on June the 16th, this is so clubs playing in the Club World Cup can make any signings they want to bring in time for the competition.

Romano on Sancho/Gittens

Are Chelsea about to replace Jadon Sancho with Jamie Gittens from Dortmund? It looks possible.

Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his latest YouTube video this week, has said:

“It’s crucial hours for Chelsea and Jadon Sancho. Today, tomorrow…let’s say this week. Chelsea will make a decision on him. Get ready for the Jadon Sancho case! They are negotiating contract terms.

“Chelsea are having discussions around Jamie Gittens, they believe he could be a smart investment, at a good price, there’s also the ex Man City academy factor, with the likes of Lavia, Palmer, Delap and Joe Shields who is now very important in deciding targets.”

Why Tottenham should sign wantaway Man Utd #9 to solve attacking problems – Opinion

Tottenham have been looking to bring in a new striker in the ongoing summer transfer window, and we have seen the North Londoners shuffling through a lot of possible targets along the window, given how Daniel Levy is looking to bring that quality and depth into the offensive roster. Now the North Londoners have been switching through the possible options again as they look to add some goalscoring player that can complement Dominik Solanke, given how he struggled to take the sole goalscoring burden upfront. Moreover, given that Dominic Solanke is already a bit of a doubt going into the season kick-off week, the North Londoners are still looking for someone who can bring that long-term goal threat leading the line in a Thomas Frank system. And this is where Manchester United striker Hojlund comes into the picture. The 22-year-old has been subject to links with a move away from Old Trafford this summer following the arrival of Benjamin Sesko at M16, and this is where Daniel Levy can put the Lilywhites’ name in contention for his signature. We know how the Dane head coach uses his forwards from his years at Gtech Community Stadium, where he always preferred to have strikers who have that physical presence but also have that mobility about their movements. Start thinking of Ivan Toney at his peak and how aggressive he was going into duels and yet how clever he was with back-to-goal play. Playing under Frank, he was also relentless in closing down defenders. And Hojlund fits that mould almost perfectly. How can Hojlund fit in at Tottenham? The Dane head coach likes to accommodate pressing triggers in his structures where the forward is more of a first man press to force the opponents into deploying wide centre-backs, so this is where the system follows and tries to rush the opponents into passes. Given the speed and work rate that we have seen from Hojlund in his time at M16, it makes him a natural fit for that role. But there is more… Frank also likes to have his #9 making those early and direct runs into space to stretch the pitch. And the 2003-born excels at timing runs beyond the last defender (which could come as a massive asset with the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Tel or Brennan Johnson supplying balls in behind). Moreover, the North Londoners could be looking to use more variety in their attacking build-up while trying to put together a complement of crosses and set-piece routines. And given the height and athleticism of Hojlund, he would fit right into it. And then Hojlund’s ability to hold up the ball and bring wide forwards into sequences would be crucial in those transitions. Strengths The 22-year-old fits the long-term rebuild, and the Lilywhites could get five or six prime years from him before even thinking about any possible resale (like with Harry Kane). And then he is really good with his high presses and has that quick-transition style. Moreover, he has already been leading the line for a while for Denmark, and while he has not yet got going in the English top tier, he now has that experience in the Premier League, and he could be ready to take strides in his development in the upcoming years, especially under someone like Thomas Frank, who has that capacity to get the best out of young players and bring them to their potential. Weaknesses He would be a massive gamble given his performances for the Manchester Reds and then a physical risk as well given that the 22-year-old has been having niggling injuries every now and then. Author Opinion If Tottenham can sign Hojlund for a fee which is closer to £30–40m and then Levy ends up using the money saved on adding another creative midfielder, then the Dane would be a superb signing to lead the attack for a long time to come. But if he comes at a premium fee which works along with £50m+ and limits what else Frank can do this window, then is it a pointless risk to take?

Eagles get big injury scare at practice regarding key starter

The Philadelphia Eagles got a major injury scare during Sunday's open practice at Lincoln Financial Field when Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson went down with a leg injury and had to be carted off to the locker room. Dickerson was reportedly unable to put any weight on his leg. Dickerson, a second-round pick (No. 37 overall) by the team in 2021 has been a starter for the Eagles over the first four years of his career and developed into one of the best offensive linemen in football. He has been named to the Pro Bowl team in each of the past three seasons and is a key cog on the Eagles' line. The Eagles' O-line is one of the team's biggest strengths and a big part of its identity, and Dickerson has taken over as one of the top leaders on that group. The Eagles are already dealing with some depth issues on the interior of their line after backup Kenyon Green had to be carted off the field in their opening preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals. If Dickerson has to miss any significant time that would be a huge blow to the Eagles' offense and their running game. But it's still very early in the process and the Eagles will almost certainly know more by Monday. The Eagles were the second-leading rushing team in the NFL during the 2024 season, averaging 179 yards per game. Running back Saquon Barkley ran for over 2,000 yards as part of their season, with the offensive line playing a huge role in both of those achievements.

'Absolutely' - Browns Are Considering Surprising Quarterback Move

It's the Browns. When the Cleveland Browns drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders this April, they had a total of five quarterbacks on their roster between their incoming rookies, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and the injured Deshaun Watson. And despite the kind of confusing nature of their stockpiling so many QBs, it sounds like the team could double-down on the the decision by the time the regular season kicks off. According to The Athletic's Zac Jackson, "the Browns absolutely might keep all four quarterbacks" heading into Cleveland's season opener. While also adding, "No, Shedeur Sanders is not going to start Week 1 for the Browns. But he's put a lot of pressure on his coaches and fellow QBs headed into this week — the biggest week of training camp as the Browns head to Philly." Fans reacted to the reporter's update on X: "At this point it's not even a QB room anymore. It's a pitching rotation now," a user said. "One as a starter, One as a backup, One to hold on field goals, And one listed as a wide receiver for tax purposes," another commented. "[Shedeur Sanders] should be developed and shouldn't be thrown out there week 1 but he should be considered to be put over Gabriel and Pickett," a fan pointed out. "While also finally getting meaningful reps with the 1's." "I'm a Shedeur fan who wants Flacco to start with Shedeur at QB2," another person replied. "Sitting behind a veteran QB can be very valuable, and you know he'd be ready if he had to come off the bench. Just my .02." "This isn't unprecedented," another user posted. "The Patriots kept 4 QBs in the 2000 season. Worked out ok for them. Not saying there's a Brady in their QB room. But if they have 4 guys who they think are NFL worthy (even if none are QB1 right now), they can make it work." The Browns have been bitten by the injury bug thus far in camp with Pickett and Gabriel both dealing with ailments this preseason — opening up a window for Shedeur Sanders to earn his way up the depth chart. Sanders played well in Friday night's debut with a 14-of-23 performance for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the way to a 30-10 win over Carolina. But head coach Kevin Stefanski says the team in "evaluation mode" when it comes to their QBs.

Former Tennessee standout from 2022 team parting ways with the Detroit Lions, but it's not who some Vol fans might be thinking

The Detroit Lions have added a handful of former Tennessee Vols over the last few years as they've worked their way up the NFC pecking order. QB Hendon Hooker, LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin, CB Cam Sutton, and CB Emmanuel Moseley all ended up in the Motor City in recent years. After the 2024 season, Hooker was the only one out of that group to remain on the roster. Hooker did get a familiar face in the locker room recently, as the Lions also signed ex-Vols RB Jabari Small last month after putting him through a tryout. As it turns out, that reunion was short lived, as the Lions announced that they had waived small with the designation of an injury settlement. Small and Hooker were headliners together for Tennessee in 2022, with the duo leading the Vols rushing and passing attacks. Small led all Tennessee running backs with 13 rushing touchdowns (to go along with 734 rushing yards) and Hooker had one of the best seasons in Tennessee history (69.6 completion percentage for 3135 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions) end with an unfortunate ACL tear against South Carolina, which almost certainly cut short a trip to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Hooker now stands alone as the final Vol in the Motor City, and with the way he's been playing lately, it could be a matter of time before his tenure with the Lions comes to an end. Hooker, who has yet to take that next step at the NFL level, called his own performance in the 34-7 preseason opening loss to the Los Angeles Chargers a "zero out of ten". He also struggled mightily on Friday night against James Pearce, Jr.'s Atlanta Falcons, going 7/10 for just 38 yards passing. For the time being, he remains as the last of a number of ex-Vols wearing the Honolulu blue and silver. Hopefully a preseason turnaround will help that tenure continue for a while longer.
