Manchester United’s problems have created an increasingly bitter debate about who is responsible for the club’s decline.

Sunday’s defeat at Old Trafford was not just another disappointing result, but a performance that left supporters questioning the players and those running the club.

Michael Carrick watched his side concede three times without finding a response against Bournemouth.

The defeat also intensified scrutiny of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s football operation and the decisions made since he took control of United’s sporting department.

Gary Neville was among the former players who voiced their frustration, directing particular criticism towards the squad’s professionalism.

But not everyone agreed with where the former United captain was placing the blame.

Giggs calls out Gary Neville in x-rated rant

Rhodri Giggs, brother of Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, has launched an x-rated attack on Neville, accusing him of failing to hold Ratcliffe accountable for the club’s growing crisis.

In a post on X following the 3-0 Bournemouth defeat, Rhodri Giggs wrote, “Gary Neville you’re an absolute w****r.

“Prime Pep couldn’t get a tune out of this lot.

“Call your mate Jim out who got us into this mess further.

“The owners are parasites and don’t have a clue.”

Neville was already furious with United’s performance before Rhodri’s attack.

Speaking after the Bournemouth loss, the former captain argued that the players were failing to meet the standards expected at Old Trafford and warned that Carrick could pay the price for problems extending beyond the dugout.

“A few of them aren’t that professional.

“There’s a few of them that don’t go to bed at the right time, don’t eat the right things, and aren’t living and breathing this football club as they should be, and as professionals should.”

Neville also questioned the club’s decision to appoint Carrick permanently, saying, “I did think last season that the club should have gone for the best manager they could have got and not given the job to Michael Carrick.

Because I felt this might happen this quickly but this has gone very, very sour very quickly and the club is a mess.”

The former defender’s criticism came as United extended their winless run to 8 matches in all competitions.

Carrick’s side are 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone, following a run that has put the head coach’s position in serious doubt.

Rhodri’s attack reflects the growing argument among United supporters and former players over whether the problems run deeper than the manager.
