'Going to win trophies' – Former Chelsea player fires shots after leaving The Blues

Former Chelsea player Noni Madueke has fired shots at his former employers over at Stamford Bridge after leaving the club.

Madueke left to join Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal last summer, but to be honest at the time, not too many Chelsea fans were that bothered about it.

Madueke is not a needle mover, despite being a pretty decent player on his day. He can also be very inconsistent though, and no Chelsea fans were particularly bothered about losing him, even if it was to a rival.

The bad thing about it is that due to our terrible ownership, we didn’t improve on Madueke with new winger signings other than Estevao. But in terms of quality, we can certainly do better than him if we had smart recruiters.

Anyways, Madueke left to win trophies, and he’s going to do that it seems, so the last laugh is with him anyway I guess!

Madueke on why he left Chelsea

Madueke told Sky Sports this weekend in quotes relayed on X:

“I just believed Arsenal were going to win trophies so that’s why I moved [from Chelsea].”

Don’t blame him. Arsenal were much better off than Chelsea were at that time, and still very much are now too. At least in terms of winning things.

Former Blues winger Joe Cole has suggested some pretty spicy moves from Chelsea to get their team back on track after a bad year. He did an interview with The Sun over the weekend.

Levi Colwill has spoken of his relief after making his first appearance of the season having recovered from a serious injury. He helped Chelsea get a point at Anfield yesterday.
