Hansi Flick Receives Good News After Barcelona's Loss to Real Madrid

FC Barcelona's 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in El Clásico yesterday has put them on the back foot in La Liga. Barcelona is now five points behind Real Madrid in the La Liga table.

Many Barcelona fans criticized the team's performance against Real Madrid, but some also believe that the injuries of key players may have hindered their chances of getting a positive result at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Hansi Flick was not on the touchline to coach the team and instead was in a box in the Santiago Bernabeu to watch the match.

Flick and the rest of the FC Barcelona players returned to training in Barcelona ahead of the next matches. Their next match will be on Sunday against Elche at home in La Liga, and the club may welcome back a key player in the squad.

Carlos Monfort of Sport reports that Robert Lewandowski has returned to team training ahead of the match against Elche this upcoming weekend. The Polish striker missed El Clásico due to an injury, but he is aiming to return for the match against Elche.

The last time Lewandowski played for Barcelona was on October 5, 2025, in the 4-1 loss against Sevilla away from home. Lewandowski suffered an injury after playing for Poland in the international break on October 12, 2025.

Joan Garcia set to return from injury

Not only is Lewandowski close to returning to full fitness, but Joan Garcia would also be back as soon as the Elche match this weekend.

Reports in Spain suggest that Joan Garcia may return in contention to play for Barcelona against Elche or in the next Champions League game against Club Brugge next week.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Garcia's recovery is going well, and he will test himself in training this week. Many Barcelona fans consider Garcia a key player for the team.

Wojciech Szczęsny has been his replacement, and the Polish goalkeeper made nine saves against Real Madrid in El Clásico yesterday.
