Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison has endured a stellar second half of the campaign at N17. The England international started the season slow and he was in and out of the team for various reasons. However, the attacking midfielder started making an impact for Ange Postecoglou’s side once he was given a run of games after the turn of the year.
Now the Spurs No.10 is one of the first names on the team-sheet when fit and he also played an important part in ending Tottenham’s long-standing trophy drought this season. The 28-year-old was a key part of the setup during the latter stages of the Europa League campaign, and he also registered a goal in the first leg of the semi-final clash against Bodo/Glimt.
But the ex-Leicester City star was unfortunate to miss out on the final after enduring a long-term injury earlier this month. Maddison’s impact on the pitch is second to none and he has played a vital role for Ange’s men this season. As per Sofascore , the Englishman has scored 12 goals and registered ten assists in 45 games this season in all competitions. The numbers speak for themselves and it is clear that he will be a key part of Ange Postecoglou’s project next season.
Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has made a big impact since arriving at N17 in 2023. The England international has always been a crucial part of Ange Postecoglou’s setup and he is arguably the only player in the squad that can create chances at will for his team. His ability to take the game on its head and turn it around for the Lilywhites does not go unnoticed amongst the fans as well.
Now, Joe Cole has also taken the time out to praise James Maddison’s personality. Speaking on The Dressing Room podcast, Cole said,
“Happy for James Maddison. He’s been chirping and he’s been brilliant. He’s a brilliant footballer and a fantastic character. He’s a lively, really confident lad. He’s a good person, good family person. He loves life and he deserves that Europa League.”
Joe Cole suggested that he was pleased James Maddison won the Europa League this season. The ex-Chelsea player insisted that Maddison is a brilliant footballer and has a great personality. Cole also added that the Spurs no.10 is lively and has great confidence. He ended by saying that James Maddison deserved that Europa League medal and all his hard-work came into fruition.
Now fans will hope that the 28-year-old will recover quickly as Spurs will look to build on Europa League success next season. It was reported earlier that James Maddison was heading for the exit doors and Manchester City wanted to sign him. But it looks increasingly unlikely that a deal will go through as the England international seems happy at N17 and has given no indications to leave the Lilywhites.
