Harry Maguire offered to Inter Milan

Despite signing a new contract at Manchester United in April, centre-back Harry Maguire, 33, has suitors this summer.

Following the arrival of Michael Carrick as the Red Devils’ head coach in January, United’s former captain has excelled. However, Maguire did not manage to force his way into Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man World Cup squad.

In the unlikely circumstance that Harry Maguire feels a move away from United is his best bet at getting back into Tuchel’s plans, an offer from Italy could soon arrive.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan’s top defensive target this summer is Udinese defender Oumar Solet. But if the Italian giants do not manage to obtain his services, Harry Maguire could be a target.

The impending departures of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij at Inter Milan mean the club needs its next reinforcements at the back. Harry Maguire has been proposed as a solution to their problems by intermediaries, but Solet for now remains their priority.

Despite this, Inter Milan ‘remain at the window’ for Maguire’s services, though a move is nowhere near coming to fruition.

After signing his new contract at Manchester United in April 2026, Maguire said, “Representing Manchester United is the ultimate honour. It is a responsibility that makes myself and my family proud every single day.“

Playing for the Red Devils has meant up-and-down moments for Maguire since he joined for a world record fee for a defender at £80 million. He’s a man very much dedicated to the cause.

A move away seems unlikely for now, and United will want to hang on to Maguire. After being offered a one-year extension, it has become clear how highly his presence is valued by the club.

A move to Serie A could be a great career move for Maguire in the future, given he has somewhat slowed down over the past couple of years and was never the most mobile of defenders.

But for now, he is a man who belongs to Manchester United.
