Now, Steven Caulker has urged Spurs to do everything they can to retain the centre-back in the summer. Speaking on talkSPORT, Caulker said,

“No, he is a player that Spurs need absolutely. He is someone who is sort of the backbone of Spurs if you like. You know he is often given the armband. If you are talking about defining the season, I think keeping hold of the leaders within the team or the more experienced players is going to be vital.”

The ex-Spurs player added,

“It is going to be really, really important. So, the fact that they are playing Champions League football this season, I would like to see the bigger names stay. Cristian Romero is certainly one of them.”
