German International attacker Timo Werner seems to have played his final game for Tottenham Hotspur, and he will leave the club in the summer.
The 29-year-old’s loan deal expires in the summer, and Tottenham are unlikely to sign him permanently.
He has had an underwhelming season with the club, and he has picked up just one goal and three assists in all competitions. Spurs need to bring in an upgrade on the player, and signing him permanently would be a huge mistake.
Tottenham insider John Wenham believes that the player has already played his last game for the club.
“I don’t see Werner featuring again this season,” Wenham said on Totteham News.
“He isn’t even registered for the Europa League final, and he’s not going to play against Brighton on the last day of the season.
“I don’t see a future for Werner at Tottenham at all, and I imagine he will already be packing his bags.”
Manager Ange Postecoglou recently confirmed that the player is sidelined with a hamstring injury, and it does not seem like he will recover in time for the remaining league matches. Furthermore, he is not registered for the UEFA Europa League final and therefore, the German is unlikely to play for Tottenham ever again.
He is unwanted at RB Leipzig as well, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. He needs to join a club where he will play regularly next season. Even though he has struggled in the Premier League, he has proven his quality in the Bundesliga in the past. It remains to be seen whether he can join the right club and get his career back on track. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can bring in a quality attacker who will help them improve going forward.
