Hibernian FC announced that they would cut the away allocation just a day after playing host to Rangers in the Scottish Cup. It has been assumed that Celtic will also suffer as a result of the behaviour of the Rangers supporters with their allocation being cut as well. However, the statement from Hibs makes no mention of Celtic and the timing makes it clear that it relates to Rangers.
In a statement posted on Tuesday evening, Hibs have said that ‘enough is enough’ and that the club have made the call to reduce the away allocation moving forward.

Over recent years supporters’ unacceptable conduct has become rife in Scotland whether that be through the use of pyrotechnics, sectarianism, objects being thrown onto the field of play or through other actions. This is simply not good enough.
Understanding that the behaviour of certain sections of Hibernian FC’s own support has not been good enough at times this season, the Club has been taking the strongest possible action against those who behave in an unacceptable manner, working with Police Scotland and colleagues at other clubs.
Hibernian FC now implores other clubs to act in a similar fashion and the governing bodies to take serious consideration into the issues to ensure Scottish football is safe and welcoming for all.
Following fan behaviour and chanting from opposing teams this season, the Club’s Board of Directors will be reducing the away allocation at Easter Road moving forward, alongside taking further actions.
Football is a sport for all, and stadiums should be a place where families and friends can come together to support their team. Hibernian FC prides itself on being a club for everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, colour, gender, religion, creed, and sexual orientation. Everyone should be able to feel safe and comfortable attending a football match.
Rangers fans pulled out their awful songbook for the game against Hibs, which was picked up by Viaplay’s microphones as the medical teams treated Martin Boyle for a serious head knock. This resulted in Hibs supporters lobbying the club to take action.
Hibs are citing the fan behaviour at Easter Road with pyro shows before kick-off. However, events at Tynecastle in the Edinburgh Derby show that the Leith side would worry about their fan behaviour. After Lawrence Shankland scored the equaliser, the Scotland Internationalist celebrated in front of the Roseburn Stand, prompting missiles to be thrown from the Hibs end.
Scottish football finds itself in a fairly dangerous position where clubs are using the threat of allocations being cut to quell fan culture, which ultimately leads to more engagement with the league. The Edinburgh Derby has full allocations, as it should, but resorting to making threats about cutting allocations due to fan behaviour seems tone-deaf. The Scottish footballing authorities and clubs should work with fans to encourage safe fan culture, which is what everyone wants.

The thing is, given his inconsistencies, there is a given clarity in the supporters that Tottenham needs to upgrade their defensive midfield spot, and this is where the new incoming #6 would be directly taking up Bissouma’s role in the current roster at Hotspur Way. Tottenham have three midfielders lined up to take over from Bissouma At the moment, if we go by the current links in the rumour mill, it looks like Thomas Frank is possibly looking at Palhinha, Douglas Luiz, and Kobbie Mainoo to take over that DM role at N17, but all three would require a reasonable financial commitment and a guaranteed first-team role. And given the current spending that Levy has been doing, complemented by the current squad, it is vital that Tottenham sell before they buy, and hence signing any of the aforementioned three midfielders won’t be possible at least till they don’t sell Bissouma or any of the other big-name players in the squad. Biss is playing it cool… To make matters worse, Bissouma isn’t really rushing to leave Tottenham, and while there is interest from a few clubs, namely Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Fulham, and a sum of clubs in France, the former Brighton midfielder is playing it cool. He knows his value and isn’t about to jump into a bad situation with just a year left on his current contract with the Premier League heavyweights. Unless someone meets his wages and gives him a meaningful role in the project, Bissouma doesn’t mind waiting, and this means that Tottenham cannot shift him, making it hard to see a deal for Palhinha or Mainoo getting done.

Cleveland Guardians Slapped With Bad News Before Trade Deadline
The Cleveland Guardians are quite a mystery heading into the MLB trade deadline, as no one seems to know whether they will buy, sell or possibly even do nothing before July 31. The Guardians are hovering around .500, but they are still smack dab in the middle of the American League Wild Card race. That's in spite of losing 10 straight just before the All-Star break. Even with Cleveland remaining in contention, there are some who believe the Guardians might sell given their conservative nature, but talk show host Bruce Drennan has provided some rather bad news for the team in that regard: the players they might want to move don't have much value. “No top prospects for a big bat, and I don’t necessarily see us selling players, like Carlos Santana or Lane Thomas. What can you get in return?” Drennan said. Drennan has a point. Santana and Thomas are both impending free agents, and neither has been all that good this season. Santana owns a .665 OPS, and Thomas has been on and off the injured list while hitting just .160 on the year. Of course, the Guardians would surely be able to land a hefty return for players like Steven Kwan and Emmanuel Clase, but it does not seem like Cleveland is going to move either of those two stars. Perhaps the Guardians will surprise some people and go all in by adding pieces at the deadline, but that isn't exactly in their nature. New York Yankees Top Prospect Reportedly Drawing Serious Trade Interest
If the New York Yankees are looking to add in the coming days, they may have to part ways with some of the young talent rising through the ranks of their farm system. The New York Post's Jon Heyman reported Thursday afternoon that catcher Rafael Flores was one Yankees prospect who has been coveted by trade partners. Flores was promoted from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last Saturday. Flores hit .287 with 15 home runs, 23 doubles, 48 runs, 56 RBIs, six stolen bases and an .841 OPS across 87 games in Double-A. Through six Triple-A contests, the 24-year-old catcher is batting .208 with one home runs, three runs, three RBIs and a .720 OPS. MLB Pipeline has Flores ranked as the Yankees' No. 8 prospect, making him the only catcher in the organization's top 25. The Yankees already swung a blockbuster deal with the Colorado Rockies on Friday, acquiring third baseman Ryan McMahon, parting ways with pitching prospects Griffin Herring and Josh Grosz in order to complete the trade. The following day, superstar outfielder Aaron Judge hit the 10-day injured list with a flexor strain. Those two moves could change New York's plans for the coming days, including their willingness to move Flores. The future of second-year first baseman Ben Rice, who has spent roughly one-seventh of his time at catcher this season, could also play a part in determining Flores' availability. The trade deadline is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Hollis joins Green Bay Packers’ motley crew of CBs behind top 3 guys Hollis played four seasons in college, his last with West Virginia after transferring from Northwestern. In three years of real playing time, he recorded 120 tackles, 2 INTs, and 12 passes defensed. He started 29 of 39 career games. The 6-foot, 199-pound corner is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, but will head back north for the summer. The Packers have announced that he will wear no. 41 during camp. Although the 90th and 91st signings were named together in the team’s formal release, the arrival of running back Israel Abanikanda, a waiver pickup from San Francisco, was reported yesterday by various sources. Over at cornerback, Hollis will join fellow rookies Jonathan Baldwin, Tyron Herring, and Micah Robinson, Green Bay’s penultimate pick of the 2025 draft at 237th overall. In addition to that group is a number of fringe players with or without NFL snaps. Bo Melton has also completed his CB position switch from receiver. The only sure things at the position are Keisean Nixon, free agent signing Nate Hobbs, and third-year man Carrington Valentine. According to his West Virginia bio, Hollis earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern in education and social policy, and worked toward a master’s in sports management while with the Mouintaneers. Although undrafted free agents, let alone 91st signings, have an uphill battle, playing alongside a guy like Valentine, who has made a career for himself as a former 232nd pick, can offer encouragement. Per Spotrac, Hollis, 23, made $82,500 in guaranteed money, including a $12,500 signing bonus, from his contract with Tennessee.
