AC Milan needed to beat Inter last night to keep their season alive, and it will once again be on the line in just under three weeks.
As MilanNews write, with the clear 3-0 win over Inter, Milan have given themselves the chance to win a second trophy in Rome on May 14. It was an opportunity obtained thanks to a brace from Luka Jovic, a penalty area killer and the star of the show at San Siro, and Tijjani Reijndes.
With this final, Milan have the chance to make a disastrous season less bitter. Furthermore, in the event of a victory next month, they would automatically earn a spot in the Europa League and it would add a bandage of sorts.
The Champions League is no longer possible to reach, but accessing the second-most important competition in Europe would save some face and also help the club’s accounts.
In fact, remaining for a year without any European competition would mean losing out on revenues that are fundamental for the club’s ambition to maintain self-sustainability.
Therefore, the last resort is the Europa League and to reach it the Rossoneri must beat Bologna in the Coppa Italia final, something that will not be easy given that they are far ahead in the table.
Furthermore, by getting to the showpiece in the capital, Milan have also ensured participation in the next Supercoppa Italiana that will be played at the beginning of 2026 with a venue yet to be decided.

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee is finding his current situation intolerable, so he’s reportedly adamant about leaving the club in January. The 24-year-old joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2024 after a brilliant stint at Bologna. While his maiden campaign at Old Trafford witnessed several highs and lows, Zirkzee eventually earned the adoration of the Old Trafford crowds. More importantly, the Dutchman was playing on a regular basis, especially amidst Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles and the lack of a better alternative. On the contrary, the player has been left starving for minutes this season, with Ruben Amorim preferring to rely on his three summer signings, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, in addition to the revitalised Mason Mount. According to Sky Sport Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Zirzkee, who is feeling ‘miserable’ due to the lack of playing, has instructed members of his entourage to find him a new club in January. Joshua Zirkzee desperate to leave Man Utd in January The Netherlands international is keen to put his playing career back on the right track, even if it means leaving Carrington in the middle of the campaign. Zirkzee was already informed by his national team manager, Ronald Koeman, that he must play more regularly to punch his World Cup ticket. The striker’s desire to leave Man Utd is music to the ears of some of the biggest clubs in Serie A, especially Roma and AC Milan, whom Tavolieri identifies as his main suitors in Italy. The Italian capital side has already established contacts with the player’s agents. Curiously, these two clubs put on a spectacular showing on Sunday night at San Siro. But despite the abundance of chances, the contest only witnessed a solitary goal, scored by Milan defender Strahinja Pavolovic. Why Milan Roma are eager to land Zirkzee The Rossoneri are thus crying out for a new striker to pair with Rafael Leao, as neither Santi Gimenez nor Chelsea loanee Christopher Nkunku have managed to score in Serie A this season. On a similar note, Evan Ferguson has been far from clinical since joining Roma, while Gian Piero Gasperini hasn’t been convinced by Artem Dovbyk. Hence, he started with Paulo Dybala as a centre-forward this weekend. Due to Zirkzee’s previous experience at Bologna, he should be able to swiftly assimilate himself into his new surroundings, which is always crucial for a January signing.
The Toronto Blue Jays and their fans are fresh off the most heartbreaking loss in franchise history. Putting the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers on the brink of elimination with two cracks to win the World Series at home, only to lose two nail-biters that each came down to the final out. It’s going to take a long time to get over it, if that’s even possible to do. However, they'll have to turn the page rather quickly because in just three days, the negotiating window for free agents expires, and all are free to sign wherever they so choose. Toronto will be busy in an attempt to retain the likes of star shortstop Bo Bichette and starting pitchers Shane Bieber, Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer. At the same time, the front office must be active in improving its roster from the outside, whether that’s via free agency or trade. While there are some intriguing names for the Blue Jays to target on the open market, given their needs, heading down the trade route could make the most sense. Here are three ideal trade targets for the Toronto Blue Jays to add an impactful left-handed bat to their lineup for 2025-26 and beyond: Oneil Cruz | Pittsburgh Pirates Cruz’s name popped up in trade rumors ahead of the deadline in August, and it’s fair to wonder if he still could be available if Pittsburgh gets the right offer. The 27-year-old has all of the tools to be one of the best hitters in baseball, standing at 6-foot-7, 240 pounds with extreme power and bat speed. His numbers last season (20 HRs, 61 RBI), while solid, didn't reflect his talent, but it's understandable given the lack of protection around him on the Pirates. In Toronto, Cruz could slot in behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bichette, immediately becoming the most dangerous left-handed hitter in a right-heavy lineup. Matt Wallner | Minnesota Twins The 39th overall pick back in 2019 may not publicly be on the trade block, but after its sell-off at the deadline, it doesn’t feel like anyone is untouchable in Minnesota. Like Cruz, Wallner, at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, has big-time power, and the Blue Jays saw that firsthand when he crushed three HRs and six RBI during their three-game series in Toronto in late August. He does have some swing and miss in his bat (.231 career average), but with how often the top of the Blue Jays lineup gets on base, all it takes is one swing for Wallner to put up a crooked number on the scoreboard. Jarren Duran | Boston Red Sox The 2024 All-Star Game MVP has been in constant trade discussions for over a year now, and it feels inevitable that he gets dealt out of Boston this winter. Duran had more of an up-and-down 2025 campaign, though he's displayed the ability to drive in runs (84 RBI) and has power with even more untapped potential. Combine that with his speed and athleticism, and you can see why so many teams would love to acquire him. Trading within the division is never easy, but the 29-year-old would be a perfect fit in the middle of Toronto's lineup, so it's something they should absolutely look into.
The 2025 NFL trade deadline is 4 p.m. ET tomorrow, Nov. 4. The New York Giants are unlikely to be buyers given how their 2025 season continues to slide down the tubes following their latest loss, a 34-24 decision to the San Francisco 49ers. But that hasn’t stopped some rumors from swirling about what general manager Joe Schoen may or may not do. So as we count down to the deadline, here’s a look at some of the emerging rumors and some additional thoughts about what the Giants might have in store over the next day-plus. (Note: Check back every so often; as new rumors are reported by the national media, we will be offering commentary. Any trades that are made, will get their own separate entry.) Raiders Reportedly Had Interest in Evan Neal (Josina Anderson) Josina Anderson reported that the Raiders made an inquiry to the Giants about obtaining offensive lineman Evan Neal via trade roughly a week and a half to two weeks ago. Obviously, nothing materialized, leaving one to wonder if the Giants’ asking price was too high or if they’re trying to run the clock down to the nub to get more out of a trade should the Raiders, whom the Giants will play later this season, be desperate to go through with it. Or it could simply be that the Raiders decided to go in a different direction. According to Las Vegas Raiders on SI, the Raiders signed guard McClendon Curtis about two weeks ago, which aligns with the timeline Anderson reported for the inquiry. Curtis, interestingly enough, was on the Giants' practice squad this year, but was released on September 8. So perhaps the Raiders not only viewed Curtis as the better option, but also one that didn’t cost them draft assets as Neal would. Dolphins Reportedly Want” a 1-plus” for WR Jaylen Waddle (Schefter) Yes, the Giants need another top-shelf receiver for their offensive arsenal. But as I have been saying now for a while, the likelihood of that happening given how the season has begun to slide down the tubes. In addition, the rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month (October) has done well for himself as the new starter without Malik Nabers, which sort of lessens the need to get another receiver this year. The bigger reason, though, is economics. With the Giants now 2-7 and destined for another top-10 draft pick among ten likely teams, of which the majority are going to need quarterbacks, the Giants should be in a great position to draft a top-flight receiver in April. Doing so then gives them their offensive battery — two receivers (Nabers and the incoming rookie), Dart, and running back Cam Skattebo — on rookie deals, thereby allowing the general manager to focus on adding a legitimate CB1 and a linebacker, two of the biggest emerging needs for this team in 2026. Giants Want a R1 Pick for Kayvon Thibodeaux (Russini) In a clear case of “tell me you’re not trading Kayvon Thibodeaux without telling me,” the Giants set what many teams are likely to consider an unrealistic price for Thibodeaux, who happens to be playing some of his best ball this year. But to understand why this trade has ZERO chance of happening, look no further than the Micah Parsons trade between Dallas and Green Bay. The Packers gave up two first-round picks (2026 and 2027) plus defensive tackle Kenny Clark to get Parsons, who, in five years, currently has 59.0 sacks, an average of 11.8 sacks per season, as backed, by the way, by the fact that Parsons has finished each of his first four seasons with double-digit sack seasons. In four seasons (two of which he dealt with injuries), Thibodeaux has just one double-digit sack campaign and currently has 23.5 sacks. That’s an average of 5.87 sacks per season so far. While sacks aren’t the be-all-end-all stat for determining a pass rusher's value, especially for a player who doesn’t turn 25 until next month, it’s highly unlikely a team in need of pass rush help is going to cough up a first-round pick for Thibodeaux. Dexter Lawrence Wants to Stay with the Giants The constant losing hasn’t been easy for any Giants player who has any sort of longevity, including defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence, who, along with receiver Darius Slayton, is one of the two longest tenured members of the team. But despite the combination of a rocky season statistically speaking and another season that has spiraled downward, Lawrence was clear about what he desired for his immediate future. Lawrence told reporters after the loss to the 49ers that he does not want to leave the team where he began his career in 2019. Lawrence’s name has, on occasion, popped up as a possible trade candidate, but despite the team’s worsening struggles, he is widely viewed as one of the untouchables on the roster. Will Evan Neal Be on the Move? Giants offensive lineman Evan Neal finally got a game-day suit ahead of what would become the team’s Week 9 loss to the 49ers. But that was more a result of the Giants' inactive list being filled with injured players. Neal, as expected, was one of two Giants who dressed for the game but didn’t get on the field, the other being quarterback Russell Wilson. With Joshua Ezeudu ready to come off IR, could the Giants be finally preparing to move Neal for a seventh-round pick and fill his spot with Ezeudu? What About Jalin Hyatt? Receiver Jalin Hyatt is another player who has been unable to find any traction in his career with the Giants, despite always looking so good during the spring and summer. Yet when it counts, the team has continued to pass over Hyatt, more recently for undrafted free agent Beaux Collins, and veterans like Lil’Jordan Humphry and Ray-Ray McCloud. So it was kind of interesting to see Hyatt, who has never played on special teams in the NFL, get snaps on the kickoff return unit, a role Hyatt told me he hadn’t done since high school. Hyatt returned four kickoffs for 111 yards (27.8 avg.) and had a long of 33. The decision to put him on kickoff returns over McCloud, who has actually done it more often at the NFL level, leaves one to wonder if the Giants are maybe looking to show the rest of the league that the receiver that the Giants traded up to get in the third round has a little more value in a potential trade.
The NFL’s Week 9 schedule concludes tonight with an NFC matchup between the 2-5 Arizona Cardinals and the 3-4-1 Dallas Cowboys, but despite the records, there could be plenty of fireworks on ‘Monday Night Football.’ Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. could especially be in for a big night even with Jacoby Brissett starting once again in place of the injured Kuler Murray. The Cowboys defense has allowed the third-most passing yards-per-game and has surrendered 20 passing touchdowns through their first seven games. This could be the remedy to a Cardinals offense that Harrison Jr.’s dad – Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison Sr. – described as “very hard to watch.” Which brings us to today’s quiz. Harrison Jr. was selected fourth-overall in the 2024 NFL draft, and while he’s dealt with issues dropping catchable passes early in his career, he still led Arizona with eight touchdown catches as a rookie. With that being said, can you name the players with the most touchdown receptions in the 2024-25 NFL season? Good luck! Did you like this quiz?
