Both teams will compete for a spot in the tournament final, where they will face either Houston Dynamo or Sporting Kansas City, the other teams that have qualified for the conference semifinals.

Seattle Sounders secured a spot in the playoffs after finishing in the second position in the conference. In the first round of the playoffs, they prevailed over Dallas FC with a 1-0 victory in the third game. The Seattle team is currently experiencing a period of strength, having lost only one game in their last 12 appearances.

In the previous round, Los Angeles FC emerged victorious against the Vancouver Whitecaps in the third game, securing a 1-0 win in Canada. In the regular season, they had finished in the third position in the conference and aim to reach the final, much like last year when they became champions of the league by defeating Los Angeles against the Philadelphia Union.
