
The second leg CONCACAF Champions Cup matches are played this week, and LAFC will play away from home in Costa Rica against LD Alajuelense.
LD Alajuelense and LAFC played each other last week for the first leg of this Round of 16 matchup in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
The first leg was played in Los Angeles, at the BMO Stadium, where the match finished in a 1-1 draw.
Over the weekend, LAFC defeated St. Louis City 2-0 in the MLS with two goals from Mathieu Choiniere. LAFC, along with the Vancouver Whitecaps, is the only team in the MLS to have a perfect record after four matchweeks.
LD Alajuelense also played a league game before the seocnd leg against LAFC in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Alajuelense defeated Municipal Perez Zeledon 3-0 at home.
With the aggregate score between LD Alajuelense and LAFC currently at 1-1, a win for either team will send them through to the quarterfinals.
The away goal rule is applied in this stage of the competition, meaning if the match is tied by more than one goal (example: 2-2), LAFC would go through. The match can go to extra time if the match ends in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
The second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16: LD Alajuelense vs LAFC will kick off at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT in the United States. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. local time in Alajuela, Costa Rica, at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto.
The match will be available to watch in the United States in English and Spanish through select TV channels and streaming services.
