Former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has spoken to the media for the first time since parting ways with the club.
He’s not seemingly said anything about Chelsea directly or how he left the club, although I’m sure that will come down the line at some point.
Maresca has instead decided to offer some really big praise to one of his former players at Chelsea, Marc Cucurella, a player he says that he simply adores.
Cucurella was performing well under Maresca, and he was even getting on the scoresheet quite a lot – something he has never really done in his career. But his form has since dipped after Maresca departed.
In quotes picked up on X this week, Maresca said on Cucurella:
“I adore him, adore him, I think he’s every coach’s dream, he’s spectacular guy, humble, he works every day, he’s a winner, he wants to win, with me, he has also brought out his goal scoring side, he scored 7-8 goals he never scored in his life” “I hope for the best for him, he deserves everything, him, his family, everything.”
Liam Rosenior has two weeks to try and come up with a solution to Chelsea’s huge problems. It may not be enough with four defeats in a row in his last four games and a lot of problems right now.
Josh Acheampong is apparently not for sale this summer – in that case, we should probably start playing him, right?
