Joao Pedro has revealed he was waiting for an opportunity to join a club like Chelsea, and admitted there’s more to come from him.

Chelsea signed Pedro from Brighton in a deal worth up to £60m in the summer, and he was one of five attacking signings.

Pedro linked with up the Blues for the latter stages of the Club World Cup and made an instant impact scoring twice in the semi final and once in the final against PSG.

Joao Pedro sends message to Chelsea fans

The 23-year-old has really impressed and followed up his good form with two goals and three assists in the first four Premier League games, and Roberto Di Matteo hopes Pedro will raise the level of the team.

Joe Cole has claimed Chelsea don’t realise how good Pedro actually is, and the the Blues will be hoping he continues his good form at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

The Brazil international has arguably been Chelsea’s best signing this summer, and he’s claimed there’s still more to come which will delight supporters.

“I was waiting for this opportunity, so when this opportunity came to me I just took it,” he said as quoted on X.com.

“I have more to show, it’s just the beginning. It’s good for people to see my qualities.

“When you arrive in a club like Chelsea everyone watches you.

“If I keep improving like this, I think people will be surprised a little bit. I believe in myself. I am a confidence player. Now it’s time to show.”

Chelsea short up front

Whilst Pedro has impressed, the injury to fellow signing Liam Delap has left the Blues short up front and put more pressure on the Brazilian.

Delap is expected to return in November, but in the mean time Pedro is more than likely going to lead the line most weeks.

Chelsea’s alternatives are Tyrique George who’s not a striker, and Marc Guiu who’s still inexperienced and has a lot to learn.
