According to RMC Sport, the Senegalese international has reached an agreement with the Reds on a five-year contract in the past few hours and the move is now progressing quickly.

Liverpool are now expected to accelerate negotiations with PSG, with the aim of getting a deal for the teenager over the line before the window closes.

Mbaye made 42 first-team appearances for PSG last season, contributing 3 goals and 3 assists across all competitions.

He’s also made his mark on the international stage with Senegal, further boosting his profile as one of the more sought-after young wingers in European football this summer.

United’s interest earlier in the window is unlikely to be revived at this late stage, with Liverpool now firmly in the driving seat.

It leaves United to continue their search elsewhere for attacking reinforcements, with two weeks still to navigate before the market shuts for good.
