Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is on the verge of getting sacked at N17

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is facing the challenge of ending the club’s long-standing trophy drought this season. Under the Australian’s management, the Lilywhites have endured one of their worst ever Premier League campaigns this season. They sit 17 th in the Premier League table and are nowhere near the levels they are required to be.

But there is still one saving grace for the ex-Celtic boss and the North London club. Spurs have reached the Europa League final and they now have the chance of ending a 17-year wait for a trophy. Big Ange’s men face Manchester United in their biggest game of the season. The fans will take some solace from the fact that the Lilywhites have already managed to beat the Red Devils thrice in all competitions this season.

It is a year full of surprises in European football. Newcastle United, Go Ahead Eagles, and Bologna have all ended their trophy drought this season and gone on to win a major trophy. Now, Tottenham have the chance to follow that path and create history. Winning the Europa League would give Ange Postecoglou a much-needed lifeline as he attempts to save his job at N17.

Michael Brown urges Ange Postecoglou to ‘walk to the crowd’ if Tottenham win UEL

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is staring at the barrel of the gun at N17. The Australian’s job has been under scrutiny for quite some time now. It certainly looks like the end of the road is near for the 59-year-old. But, the ex-Celtic boss still has the chance of leaving the club on a high as Spurs have the chance of winning the Europa League this season.

Now, ex-Spurs player Michael Brown has urged Ange Postecoglou to do something ‘cold’ if the ex-Celtic boss wins the final. Speaking on the BBC’s Premier League Review (as transcribed by Spurs Web), Brown said,

“Spurs are favourites, no? I did this on Friday in the show with Darren, and I just said – he just walks, goes and wins it, and just goes over the crowd. Imagine the moment if he did it and just walked over, and just going ‘see you later, thanks’.”

The ex-Spurs player added,

“It’ll be too good. Just walk down the tunnel, go over to the fans, wave, go ‘there you go’. Walk down the tunnel, don’t watch the trophy [lift] and meet the players later. I’d say ‘thank you’.”

Michael Brown suggests that Ange Postecoglou should go to the fans with the trophy as if to show he proved everyone wrong, given Spurs win the final. The ex-player also urges Big Ange to walk down the tunnel and not attend the trophy lift, as if to say that he is walking out the exit doors after proving his critics wrong.

It was reported earlier this week that Daniel Levy was going to replace Ange Postecoglou at the helm, regardless of the outcome in the Europa League final. The Spurs chairman believes that the club needs a fresh start and he has already started looking at potential managers to bring in. Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and Fulham manager Marco Silva are the current favourites to replace Big Ange at the helm at N17.
