One player on the transfer radar of every top-six club this year is Antoine Semenyo. Fuelled by his wonderful 24/25 campaign, and a blockbuster start to the current term, the 25-year-old London-born Ghanian international winger is a hot topic and we now know how much he shall cost.
According to Football Insider, Bournemouth could demand atleast £100m for their versatile winger. After a summer of only losing most of their top players, like Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, Milos Kerkez to Liverpool and Ilya Zabarnyi to PSG, they would not want to do away with a lot of quality in two successive summers, and that would explain why they’d charge as much as £100,000,000.
Semenyo’s progress since his January 2023 arrival from Bristol City has been noteworthy. In the 2025-26 season, he has amassed six goals and three assists in eight outings, aiding Bournemouth’s ascent to fourth in the Premier League after seven matches, comprising four wins.
His adaptability across forward roles, allied with speed, strength, and goal-scoring acumen, resonates with Thomas Frank’s dynamic pressing system. A five-year contract extension in July, valid until 2030 (Transfermarkt), reinforces Bournemouth’s resolve to retain him, basically rendering a January exit null and directing focus to the summer of 2026. That’s when they can fetch the big bucks.
As already mentioned, for Thomas Frank, Semenyo emerges as a compelling target to deepen their forward resources. Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus and Brennan Johnson and the proper full-time wingers, while others can put in a shift there.
Injuries and inconsistencies highlighted the need for rotation, where Semenyo’s capacity to exploit spaces and contribute goals could introduce greater versatility in transitions and high-pressing scenarios. However, to smoke £100m on a single player especially after the window that Tottenham had? Doubtful.
The most ideal of all situations is to do away with the deadwood. The likes of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Ben Davies can fetch some decent amount of money which can strengthen the transfer kitty and help redirect the funds to get upgrades.
Tottenham’s hierarchy must balance Semenyo’s prowess against holistic squad evolution. His addition could invigorate their title contention, but the valuation invites caution. To what degree might Tottenham’s budgetary constraints shape their approach to acquiring Semenyo next summer? Time will tell.
