It might just be my advancing years, but I’m quite laid back when it comes to the football nowadays, and unlike a lot of supporters yesterday’s result although a little tainted through yet another lacklustre performance, didn’t upset me, and all things said and done I’m quite content with a point, yes very happy indeed.
Some are looking at it from a perspective of how poor theRangers have been after dropping points to Motherwell, St Mirren, and Dundee, and of course the thumping they received from Brugge in midweek, but this game was a completely different story in more ways than one.
This was a Glasgow Derby on home turf for the Ibrox side, they were under pressure to not only get a result, but to also perform, not to mention that they always raise their game when a green and white shirt is put in front of them, so it was always going to be a difficult afternoon from our point of view.
Even more so after a gruelling midweek jaunt to outer Kazakhstan, which saw us dumped out of the Champions League leaving our minds as well as our bodies feeling the full brutal effects.
So to go to the home of our rivals who are desperate for a result, and come away with a clean sheet and a point, a hard earned point that also happens to keep us top of the table and six points clear of our city rivals has to be seen as a positive, don’t you agree?
